Of all the Duggar family members, I think Jill Duggar (now Dillard) is the least annoying. She posts a lot of adorable photos to social media, she seems relatively innocuous (although she likely shares her family’s antiquated belief system), and she also looks genuinely in love with her husband of all of eight weeks, Derick Dillard. It turns out that Jill Duggar is also rather media savvy, because instead of issuing an Instagram announcement or just tweeting the news, she gave People Magazine the exclusive story that she’s pregnant. She’s six weeks along and admits that she got knocked up just two weeks into her marriage. There’s also a cutesy story about how she confirmed the pregnancy – she took one of her mother’s super sensitive pregnancy tests. All the pregnancy tests she took prior to that came up negative.
How she found out she was pregnant
A few weeks into her marriage… Jill, 23, had already taken a few of her own [pregnancy tests] (just in case!), and each had come back negative, but at her sisters’ urging she gave one of Mom’s a try. The result was something a Michelle Duggar pregnancy test often reveals: positive!
When Jill got pregnant
“We got pregnant a little less than two weeks after we got married.”
How many kids they’re going to have
“Derick and I want to leave up to God how many children we would have, whether that is two or 20.”
They plan to do missionary work overseas
“It could be as early as two years or five years from now that we’d go,” says Derick, who currently works as an accountant. “I know that navigating cultures can be hard for kids,” he concedes. But in the grand Duggar tradition, “we will probably homeschool.”

So the Duggar master plan is in effect. They currently have three grandchildren and one on the way. If all 19 of their kids have just three children each they’ll have 57 grandkids, but you know that they’ll overshoot that number. Soon there will be hundreds of Duggars all toeing the family line and couching bigotry in Biblical terms.
Jill and Derick may be following the Duggar’s lead to proliferate, but they’re not going to name their kids alliteratively like all of Jill’s siblings. They told People that they’re not following a naming scheme. (Josh Duggar and wife Anna have three kids with “M” names.)
